Fostering John Sculley in illusion of Creating Jobs

With world moving from a Floppy drive to an online cloud drive, with fast paced lifestyle, the need of effective communication has also been amplified. Organizations have also preferred people with impressive communications and have uphold the people who can impress with their communications. But in all the mayhem of impressive communication, we have lost the essence of it which is to express.

A famous writer Drucker once said the core idea behind communication is to “communicate to express and not to impress.”

Another Great hero Salahundin Ayubi said on the day of capturing the city of Jerusalem “we need a man of action not a man of words”

Even in the tale of Apple and its rose to fame is the fact Steve jobs and his team had an idea and that the put on the handwork and the idea exploded through the speech of these people. The idea was so intense that it came out as an expression of change, expression of simplicity, expression of reliability, expression of trust.

It was the idea, the hard work that came into expression, not the vice versa of expressing a thing which is not there. Same as Sculley who was a master communicator and some say maybe better than Steve jobs himself , in impressing the audience with his communications , but he lacked the idea , the nurturing a philosophy of apple.

Spring of 2014 , I entered into one of the most prestigious business institutes of Pakistan and was thoroughly excited and was eager to learn what it has to offer more than just the curriculum endeavors , where I  found most lectures focused about the high gpa we require to compete , how to be impressive in communication.

Then I realized even after having such top tier Business universities of Asia , such as LUMS , NUST , IBA , and IoBM , we are only able to produce people like our former president Mr.Shaukat Aziz, a skilled communicator but hardly any action that could speak his favor.

Pakistan has failed to produce leaders because our system that includes, educational institutes, organizations, society and government have failed to emphasize on communicating for expression and expressions only comes out when you have an idea and idea is nurtured in the mind, which is bulldozed early in their careers, in order to achieve a high gpa either by memorizing or by being impressive in communication.

If we look at our educational institutes we are a nation which has an assembly line producing Sculley , a master communicator , who has nothing to offer than his explicit choice of words .

In the book “Quiet the power of Introverts “ the writer Susan , shows us a unique perspective about people who have the qualities of being great leaders but are either crushed by the society or by the institutes who are buyers from the Sculley production line.

Due to this aspect most of us have just thought to flow with the flow and communicate for impression, without having anything to back our credibility, and that has been our trait for few centuries now. We have failed to put a system in place that produce jobs’ …. System Has Failed
